Due to the Covid-19 virus, we are sad to announce that 7-9th grade camp will not be run this summer.

We have worked closely with the State, CDC, local Health Department, and the First Selectman following the guidelines for camp to create a fun K-6th camp that is safe.
Camp is for Woodbury and Bethlehem residents.

It is the State law that there is a mandatory 14-day quarantine for travelers coming into the region from states with high rates of coronavirus infections. The list of states subject to the rules will be updated depending on infection rates. Currently they include Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah.
Any state with a positive coronavirus test rate of 10 percent or greater over a seven-day period will fall into that list; another measure used will be the rate of daily new cases per 100,000 people in a state. The list of states subject to the rules will be updated weekly, said Acting Connecticut Department of Health Commission Deidre Gifford.  The rules will also apply to Connecticut residents who travel to hard-hit states like Florida and Texas. If you have traveled to any of these states or are from the states on the list, you are unable to participate in our programs until the mandatory 14 day quarantine period has been done without any signs of illness.

To our campers and families,
Because of this State law, we are required to inform you that if anyone in your household that lives with you and has traveled to any of the States listed above, and they are in the two-week quarantine that is necessary upon their return,  your child CANNOT attend the camp/program that they have been signed up for regardless of symptoms for two weeks/14 days. Also, if someone that has traveled to these States and are within the two-week quarantine period, cannot drop off or pick up your child to their program (this includes family members that do not live with you, friends, neighbors etc.) This is for the health and safety of everyone that is attending camp and for our staff.
Be assured that you will get a full refund if camp has not begun, as this is a situation out of your control. If camp has already begun, we will not pro-rate, and you will not get a refund.
Please email us at jmiller@woodburyct.org or sandyv@woodburyct.org or call our office Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm or leave a voicemail with any questions or information.

It will be quite different this year, please which is outlined below:

  • Entering Kindergarten through Entering Grade 6 Only.

  • All five days will be held at Hollow Park

  • There is a limit of 42 children made up of three groups of 14 that are not able to mingle. The group of ten will remain with the same two counselors for the entire week.

  • Drop off will be facilitated by the parent/guardian driving into the park. You will drive down towards the pond, and around to the right, where the car will be met by the Director. PLEASE DO NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR. The Director will take the temperature of the child coming to camp. If the child shows no signs of any respiratory problems and has a temperature of less than 100 the child be allowed to exit the car and join their group.

  • Drop off will be between 8:30 and 9:00 am, no late drop offs will be allowed.

  • Pick up will be at 2:30 pm, and will be conducted in the same way. You will drive to the designated pick up place and your child will be brought to your car. No one is to exit the car except the child coming to camp.

  • Counselors and staff will need to wear a mask the entire camp day. Children are not required to wear a mask. If you wish to have your child wear a mask, you must provide one, and it is the child’s responsibility to make sure it goes home (if it is a reusable one).

  • Restrooms will be available for camp staff and campers only. They will be locked until necessary and cleaned each day.

  • Wipes and antibacterial hand soap and sanitizer will be available for all camp staff and campers. Handwashing is imperative before and after all activities. Your child must understand this and cooperate with staff on this matter.

  • If a child is unwell outside of camp, you must let us know. They will not be able to return to camp for 14 days.

  • If someone in the camper’s household is ill or has symptoms of Covid-19, the camper is not permitted to attend camp.

  • If the camper is ill from a suspected case of Covid-19 the entire group that has been at camp with that child, (the other nine children and two counselors) will not be allowed back to camp for 14 days.

  • Rain:

  1. If it is raining at the start of the camp day, there will be no camp.

  2. If the rain stops by 10:30, you will receive an email alerting you that camp will begin at 11:00 am that day, and you will have until 11:30 am to drop off your child.

  3. If it begins to rain during the camp day, we would ask that you arrange to pick your child up. We will have limited space to keep your child dry while still following the rules to keep all three groups apart.

  4. If there is thunder and lightning, we ask that you pick your child up immediately.

  5. There will be no refunds given due to missed hours or days due to rain.

State Regulations and Town of Woodbury Waiver
You must sign the accompanied waiver in order for your child(ren) to be able to attend camp.
