This course will teach students the basics of playing the drum set. They will learn the independence required to play different styles of music, the similarities and differences between those different styles, and how to play each style authentically. Students will learn how to think in phrases, which is an essential skill for playing musically. They will learn how to apply their snare drum techniques to the drum set, and how to create new sounds using skills they've already learned. The students will also learn how to set up their drum sets properly, and tuning will be discussed. At the end of this course, students will have the basic knowledge that they need to be able to play the drum set in a musical setting.
At least 1 year experience on snare drum is required
