Laugh a lot, have fun sharing and creating! Learn how to draw your own cartoon characters, import your artwork into real digital comic strips using “app smashing” techniques (combine clip art, stock comic strip characters and backgrounds, and edited photographs). Bring your ideas, your favorite joke or idiom (i.e. “It’s Raining Cats & Dogs”) or illustrate one from my collection. “Where do cows go on Friday nights? To the moo-vie theater!” “Where do books sleep? Under their covers.”
Produce cartoon videos and have fun customizing avatars that can perform 25+ different moves like jumping, turning and dancing the Macarena, Hip-hop and more. The avatars can be used to tell your jokes, be a character in your comic strip, or cartoon music video.
Plus students will make an interactive comic iBook by adding their comics and video into "Book Creator", which will be uploaded to YouTube and a link sent after the last class. iPads are provided for class use, and/or bring your own so we can easily transfer results.
