How Cool Is That?!  (Hands-On Science) is back offering hands-on/minds-on science activities taught by an insured, certified CT teacher.  Fun/education, focusing on science concepts, reinforcing methodologies.  With the new importance placed on Common Core and standardized testing, there just isn’t enough time in a school day for hands-on science activities.  Possible activities include:





  • Honeydew Melon Helmet Drop – what kind of helmet protects best in a crash?


  • Dissecting Owl Pellets


  • Grossology


  • Solar Ovens


  • Armor Clad Egg Drop – can an egg withstand a drop of 50 feet?


  • Catapults


  • Pet Food Analysis


  • See your own DNA!




Velya Jancz-Urban, former Connecticut high school English/History teacher and elementary Gifted/Enrichment teacher, encourages her students to not only think outside the box but avoid the box all together!!
